Second Finance Minister Nor Mohamed Yakcop says German car maker Volkswagen AG, in its negotiations with Malaysian car maker Proton Holdings Bhd, has given no indication of its intention to set up a manufacturing plant in Indonesia, The Edge Financial Daily reported Wednesday.

July 31, 2007; Volkswagen of America, Inc. previewed the forthcoming Jetta SportWagen at the American Station Wagon Owners Association’s (ASWOA) national convention held July 27-29 in Archbold, Ohio. The SportWagen, scheduled for public introduction in March 2008, was the centerpiece of a display showcasing Volkswagen’s long-term commitment to the station wagon body style.

I'm still recovering over the fact that they went with a Camaro rather than a VW Beetle for Bumblebee, but awesome products like this just might make up for it. Screw the iDog, the iCat, and all of those other iPod speaker sets on the market. This is definitely where it's at.

Some call it the Golf. Others call it the Rabbit. Whatever you want to call it, a bunch of spy pics have been taken of Volkswagen's next-generation compact hatchback in what appears to be Death Valley. It's still very heavily camouflaged, so it's hard to really pass judgment at this point.

July 31 (Bloomberg) -- MAN AG, Europe's third-largest truckmaker, raised its 2007 earnings forecast as second-quarter profit more than doubled on higher sales in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The shares rose the most in eight months.
