Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- German stocks pared earlier declines as Volkswagen AG and BASF SE rose. Allianz SE led falling shares. The benchmark DAX Index slipped 5.33, or 0.1 percent, to 4,863.25 as of 11:42 a.m. in Frankfurt after dropping as much as 1.7 percent.
